Not to sound too medieval...

Pray forgive the delay in the forthcoming treatises, for I find myself wholly engrossed in the pursuit of knowledge and the labor of creation.

The Met Cloisters' 15th-century deck is the only complete set of illuminated playing cards, featuring hunting-themed suits and bold, satirical depictions of Burgundian fashion. Likely a collector's piece, the cards show little sign of use.

Rest assured, discoveries and insights of great import shall be shared anon in the new year.
